Bringing Stories to Life—One Page at a Time
The Bristol Black Collective is proud to present our Story Walk initiative—an interactive, outdoor reading experience that brings books into our neighborhood parks, encouraging families to read, walk, and connect with one another.
Each Story Walk installation features a children’s book displayed page by page along a walking path, offering a fun, accessible way to promote literacy, physical activity, and community engagement. Whether you're visiting Father Travassos Park or Kathy Assad Park, you’ll find stories that reflect our community’s values, cultures, and imagination.
📖 Monthly Story Installations
What makes this project special is that each month, members of our community help select and install a new story—highlighting diverse voices, experiences, and traditions. It's a celebration of shared learning and neighborhood pride.
📚 Community Reading Boxes
While you’re there, be sure to stop by our free Community Reading Box to borrow a book, leave a book, or simply discover your next favorite story.
💛 Made Possible by Community and Grant Support
This project is funded through the City of Fall River’s Love Your Block Mini-Grant Initiative, which supports resident-led projects that improve the Flint neighborhood, encourage civic pride, and bring people together.
Together, we’re building a more connected, thriving community—one story, one step, one park at a time.
